Golden Winged Box
I have gone back and forth as to whether the golden creature on this box is a bat or a bird, but whatever it is, it is my favorite box I have made so far.

Mayan Profile Box
Most of my boxes develop as they are built, but this box is based on sketch I did in my daily calendar while sitting in a waiting room last year. I am fond of it and plan to make more boxes with their faces in profile soon.

And the first two were blue
These are the first two paper mache boxes that I made back in 2009. The larger one is the only one of that size I have made. It has recycled cereal boxes as its base. The surfaces were then built up with paper maché. Every part of the box, inside and out, top and bottom were hand painted, and sealed. The box is 6.5 inches across and 3.5 inches tall. The smaller box is built over a recycled gel container. They are in the same private collection.
Paper Mache Clay Boxes
Paper mache clay is just what it’s name states it is. Building with it is feels much more like working in clay than traditional paper mache. Many paper mache artists are making the switch so I thought I would give it a try. These two boxes are among my first efforts. They are heavier and not as smooth as my traditional paper mache boxes.
